![]() I was questioning if it's really a type of namwah because it doesn't have purple pedicels. I can tell it's some type of dwarf, but it doesn't really look like dwarf namwahs I've seen.

![]() I'm with you Rob. It is surprising it doesn't have the purple pedicels. All the namwah types that have flowered for me so far, including D. Namwah, have them.

![]() Good call.
How many fingers per hand Trebor? Namwah normally has a lot more than Orinoco. |

![]() Nope on any winterization and it came from Davis Nursery up in Summerdale, AL two years ago. They sell large potted pups, not itty-bitty TC plants...only thing they have though is Gran Nain, Basjoo, "Ice Cream" (aka Namwah) and Rajapuri from the couple times I've looked through their stock.

![]() Your oak trees must be keeping the frost away. My nanas aren't sheltered as well. I'm hoping for blooms from Tall namwa (original pup from Hydroid) Orinoco and maybe Goldfinger this season. I have relatives in Foley and Lillian so I'll checkout Davis nursery on my next trip over. How do Gran Nain taste? what size is the fruit?
Thanks Quote:

![]() Are you sure??? I bought one labeled Blue Java from Lowes last year. The label clearly stated "La Verne" nursery.
I am no expert at all and consider myself still a banana newbie who has spend lots of hours on here and on the www to learn about "Musa" but compared side by side the BJ from Jon and the BJ from "La Verne" show significant differences. Actually the La Verne one has more red in its p-stem and mid-ribs than I have blush in my make-up kit..... ![]() |
