Bananas Quarterly Cover Photo Contest

Hi all! This contest, which I hope to have ongoing, is for the wonderful privelege of being the cover photographer for upcoming issues of Bananas Quarterly, starting with No. 3 (No. 1, of course, has already been released, and No. 2 will be shortly.) This means that, as the magazine progresses, the contest will have multiple winners - one per quarter.

What I'm looking for are portrait-format (ie taller than they are long) photographs of banana plants, flowers, fruit, etc. or banana-related subjects (ie banana-relatives, groves, etc.) They need to have a strong central focus and not be too cluttered towards the edges, where the cover text will be placed. Below is an example of a good cover photo (which has been mocked-up as the cover for Issue 2); it illustrates what I'm looking for in terms of visual impact and uncluttered edges.

You can submit as many or as few photos as you wish. There is no contest deadline.

Please post your entries to this thread - I like the idea of you all being able to see what's been submitted, and many of you are extremely talented photographers so the whole IBS benefits from it. Thanks a zillion for submitting your entries!

Great idea, Beth! This is a good way of getting more folks involved in our magazine. "Ours" meaning the entire IBS membership.
