Variegated Musa wanted - possible rare Figs for trade
I'm looking for variegated musa (other than Florida or Nono, I have both already). Manini/A'ea'e, all yellow types, any type of variegated (under 14' at maturity))
Shipping to USA mainland, zip 87544, not California. Willing to do sizable purchases of 6 - 12 (or just one!) Not for profit or re-sale, for my private collection. I willing to do a cash deal - fair market value- or for the "traders" out there, I have some extremely rare Fig types, one that is one of the most unique, best tasting (like a peach) Fig that exists. - highly coveted, (I have turned down dozens of sales offer, they are only for trade) and unknown to most of the world, one of which there are only about a dozen in existence. Fig folks can message me for more details. These aren't for newbies to Gardening/Figs. Thank you in advance for any replies! [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: Variegated Musa wanted - possible rare Figs for trade
Whilst I have no trade for you I am interested in learning about your figs, I'm in the UK and just have the standard Turkish fig and never knew there were rare ones, what have you got and are they fertile like the common fig as' cut it and plant it'?

Hi, thanks for asking about Figs. Just like musa there are hundreds and hundreds of types - green figs, black figs, yellow figs, etc etc. Many different flavor profiles. Tons of info online, including forums - just like this one that do nothing but talk about Figs Figs Figs. Most Figs can be easy to propagate through cuttings, grafting, or TC. Some types have proven to be tough, one type of mine, I have gone through about 50 cuttings the past few years, with only a handful of success, where as other I approach 100%. Many of my rare Figs are heirlooms discovered growing wild in New Mexico over the past 20 years, in abandoned homestead, farms, fields......many of these mother trees have been cut down, leaving them quite rare. Many of these were brought over overseas with immigrants long ago. |

Re: Variegated Musa wanted - possible rare Figs for trade
I would like to mention, that any sales, or referrals will be kept completely private, and not discussed publicly on these forums.
I have purchased in years past from several members of this forum - and unless they jump in on a thread, "outing themselves", I keep all transactions that happens between us - between us. I'm not one to "kiss and tell"! So please, anyone that has or knows of any variegated musa, please PM me. Thank you! |
