Default Ages ago I read the directions to bake bread in a paper bag

Sound nutty? Sure but what a cool way to give a hostess gift--pan and bread together. Sadly I failed to save the links or lost them on a fried HD and my best searching leaves me clueless. (Yes, I know I read directions--I'm old but I vividly recall them.)

Has anyone ever done it? I suspect it's a 2 bag system with the inner one saturated in oil or melted butter so the paper doesn't stick; that's how you do Panettone. Only I want to do something savory in a "bag".

SF, I was counting on you to find it! I know about the zippie bag kneading technique. That won't do. BTW, Boston brown bread is baked in a can and then sealed to sell. (At home you just use a 1lb coffee can--if you can find one of those antiques.)

It couldn't be a quick bread because it'd be too wet. But there are many recipes for banana bread using yeast so, if we figure this out, why not?

I watched a bunch of kids at a church and my favorite idea the kids had was to dip your banana in mini mms! take one bite so the banana is sticky and enjoy diping that's my special way or I love doing this recipe for banana bread always fun!

How to make Mama Jessi's Super Awesome Banana Bread

You will need:
1/2 c unsalted butter (room temp)
1 c brown sugar (packed)
1/2 c sugar
4 ripe bananas
1 c sour cream, or plain yogurt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbs honey (now you know my secret)
2 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 1/4 c flour
1 c nuts (optional)

I like to put extra nuts on top
if there are nuts inside.
2 loaf pans, parchment paper, butter/oil and flour

Preheat the oven to 350. Line the bottom of each loaf pan with parchment paper, then coat the sides with oil and flour, tapping out all extra flour.

Cream together the butter and sugars. In a separate bowl I like to mash my bananas up to make sure they are good and gooey. (See note) Once the bananas are good and gooey, add them to the butter sugar mix. Mix well! Add sour cream, vanilla, eggs, honey and salt and mix throughly. I prefer to add my baking soda baking powder and cream of tarter to the liquid mix at this point. Then slowly add in the flour and scrape the sides of your bowl to make sure that everything is mixed well! If you use nuts, fold them in now.

Pour into 2 loaf pans and bake for 45-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. My oven takes about 50 minutes.

NOTE: Bananas, I keep my ripe bananas in the freezer, so that whenever I want to bake banana bread, I have whole bananas in the freezer. I just set them out an hour before I start baking to thaw and then peel them. The frozen bananas thawed are very gooey, and easy to mash.

But you still have to put them in, take them out and put them away. (I also hate grocery shopping--load up a cart, put your goodies on the belt, either bag yourself or collect the bags loaded for you, stuff it in your vehicle, drive home then drag it all into the house, put it away, take it out to use, toss the inedible/non recyclable stuff in a bag, schlep it out to a can then take the can to the curb--just to eat?) Paper bags give more back than just avoiding dishes--toss them in the compost bin.
