Looking at the size of the plants and leaf shape, they look like Florida too me. Any pictures of the p-stems.

Hi Larry

Apologies if I'm wrong, you have the experience of growing and selling bananas for a long time now, the assumption isn't against yourself but towards the reputable grower who has sent you the plants. Ae Ae unlike Florida can't be tissue cultured, when Ae Ae puts out the 4th leave the plant would be a considerable size since corms have to be dug up.

If the p-stem and petiole are variegated the plants are Florida. Ae Ae do not have variegated P-stems. Do you have any photos of the P-stems

You can tell by the leaves these aren't florida. but I'll send you photos later.

Re: AeAe aka Manini for sale - 3 pups

these are the photos of the plants getting harvested for shipment to me. Hard to see the pstems, but the cleaned corms show some pstem.
Not sure why I'm trying to prove this to you. these are not florida, and are manini.
hope this settles your mind.

The original photos look deceiving, they look like Florida, but these are definitely Ae Ae. You dont have to prove anything to me. I am not the one who has purchased the bananas. I was just making sure the right varieties had been given out.👍

I wouldn't list them as AeAe if they weren't for sure.

Not sure HOW they look deceiving. Some people can tell by the leaves, and they also ask questions.

But thanks for looking out for everyone...

I'm curious, how much did these sell for? I am asking because I would like one once available, depending on the price.

Be very careful bringing banana plants over from Hawaii. You don’t want to accidentally bring bunch top virus to the mainland.

I didn’t know that AeAe doesn’t have variegation on the PS and petioles but Florida does. I will have to take a look at my plants and see if that is true.

Florida's p-stem and petiole are variegated when the p-stem is small, also the pink on the petioles is noticeable, but after the p-stem has grown above a meter, not sure if it is still noticeable.
