New cold hardy Musa 'Bhutan' for trade.
I have a few one gallon Musa 'Bhutan's for trade for like wise rare(maybe seed grown plants). The new M.'Bhutan' was introduced last year, and being from near by mountains of the Himalayas should show the same cold hardiness as Musa sikkimensis. It has REALLY dark purple under sides of leaf, and the leaf shape is really wide and thick. I'm not sure how big it gets, but my guess would be medium/large.
I'm looking- Musa yunnansis, Musa 'Yellow forest'(from nature products normally), and cold hardy dwarfs or any cold hardy bananas that aren't common. Would also be interested in varigated bananas. Make me an offer! Kyle |

The pics are in my Gallery, cause it wouldn't work here.
If you think it looks like M.sikkimensis it's not. The fruit, and seeds are way different. |

Thanks for posting that pic Media hound, and thanks for running this site.
I'm thinking that this banana is really a dwarf. It's growth exibits those charateritics, being slow, and staying short. This actually makes me pretty happy, but also means that if it is hardy and left outside(dying back) it will stay a fairly short mat, kinda like a cold hardy SDC. At this point it's just speculation though. |
