![]() Hi all,
I was at one of Country supply And I saw chicken grit, But there are different sizes 1/16 - to 3/16 and also Bags of oyster shells If I want to use what size would be The best? And also somebody suggested Coarse not clumping cat litter Grit Way cheaper than Perlite but not as light, Are these ok to mix with Peat moss/ potting soil? or to put it in the ground to aid draining Thanks in advance

Cat litter will ruin your mix once it breaks down to mush. I know perlite is somewhat pricey in small bags. Check out the Hydroponic stores in Mississauga they have the big economical bags for sale at a friendly price. I purchase the 113L (4cubic ft) bags for 28.00 US. This is enough to nicely amend a 4cuft bag of peatmoss In addition you may get a bag of LUMP charcoal at the big box and bust it up and use it in your mix also.....double whoohoonanner. Charcoal and perlite will make your mix awesome. https://flic.kr/s/aHskn4Nmrt Last edited by cincinnana : 10-23-2020 at 02:01 PM. Reason: misspelled whoohoonanar |

![]() Just a thought .....you will need some led supplemental lighting .
Do what you did for your salt tanks.....diy is the best way...you can put so much more light on your plants that way. For a decent initial cost. |
