Default pepper pedicel in compost ?

Hi guys

I have question is it okay to add the top part of pepper (pedicel) to the composte pile ? or maybe it can make some problems cause it's really hot pepper
usually I always avoid pepper but this week I got a lot (80 kg) for free
if there's any chance that it can harm my precious bananas I will burn the 80kg right away

Default Re: pepper pedicel in compost ?

80 Kg of peppers?!? That's a lot of hot pepper jelly.

I haven't ever heard of it being a problem, especially if you are composting it over time and mixing it in with your other compostables. I just emptied all of my jalapeno plants of their peppers, a little shy of 80kg though , and the remnants go into the compost.

I don't know what I don't know, but I have never had a problem nor have I ever heard anyone suggest it's a problem, but then we aren't exactly a mecca here for growing hot peppers.
