Looks great and so does the sago! My sabal minors got leaf burn at 14F last winter WITH protection. Im starting to wonder if I even have a sabal minor (but it does look a lot like yours so I guess it is). How many leaves have yours put out this year? Mine put out 1 full leaf and is working on its 2nd now.

Like the flowers on it too!

What zone are you in palmtree? I had virtually no leaf burn that was noticeable here. These are the native varieties that I picked up at a local nursery. As far as the leaves go they been putting on a lots. I pruned them back heavily during the construction of my greenhouse because a trench was in the area. Since then they haven't missed a beat despite being relatively slow growers. I've fertilized and watered them to encourage more seed set. Ante, wants some seed so I'm sending him a bunch come fall.

I live in a zone 7, right by NYC. This winter was kind of mild (despite record amounts of snow) because the lowest temp was only 14F (same as some cities to the south and even northern florida who had a bad winter). I was surprised that my sabal got leaf burn at only 14F especially since it got the same protection as my pindo which had NO leaf burn. Heres a pic of my sabal just after winter and another one of it this May

Its grown a lot since the picture of it this past may. My sabal minor is actually growing just a little slower than my windmill palms which is working on its 3rd leaf now.

****
Oh and I forgot to add that I got them at Lowes last spring.

Thanks! And Im looking into the sabal minor varieties right now. I know they are out there but I didnt realize how many they were and especially how different each one is. And if you have a cross between 2 then who knows!

Good luck. Your sabals also look really great!!
