Moisture retention for pineapple seeds.
I found an easy way for retaining moisture, when germinating seeds. Works good for rooting cuttings, also.
Put your potting or rooting mix in a standard 4½ inch plastic pot. Place this pot in a 1 quart round plastic container, like you would get from a Chinese restaurant.. Both the pot and the container are about the same size at the top, so the pot will not go to the bottom of the container, but will hang, with the rims of both almost even. Water the mix well, so it runs out of the bottom of the pot, to a depth of about an inch, in the container. Plant your seeds, or stick your cuttings. Put a tall plastic bag around the whole thing (the bags that they deliver newspapers in are just right). Retain some air, in the bag and tie it off.
