Here is a photo of one of my Musa Basjoo's in my garden (i have 3)
I live in the south of england and this is their second summer, when i got them they were less than 2 feet tall, i planted them out and left them where they were over winter and i cut off all the leaves before the first frosts, i covered the bottom of the stem with mulch and placed wodden pallets around the main stem then filled it with straw and covered the top with a plastic sheet to keep the straw dry.
I have also just planted a Musa Helen's Hybrid and a Musa sikkimensis so lets see how they cope with over wintering. |
