Uruapan, Michoacan Federal Park Late June 06

Poster: Tropicallvr (see this users gallery) These are all pics taken in the Federal Park in Uruapan, Michoacan, MX. Uruapan is located in the highlands, and the area is nationally know as the avocado capital of Mexico. Here's Bob, my dad and tour guide a little annoyed, after getting told there was no smoking in the park by a federale. It's a Federal park, so it had federales(guys in black with machine guns, and uzi's) patroling and guarding the entrances.

Great picture,is that a picture of what some of us refer to as the giant snow banana or Ensete glaucum ? how tall is it would you say? take care-Jason.

Jason, no it's Ensete ventricosum, which gets larger. The one pictured wasn't the biggest, but it was probally close to 25' to top of leaf.
