Will canna's bloom the first year starting from seed or is it two years. I'd love to grow cannas but I can only container garden on my balcony Sad

im really not sure. i know if you have the rizome you get flowers the first year. but this is the first time ive ever grown cannas from seeds. for the longest time i didnt know cannas had seeds. lol! i know that its harder then !@#$ to poke a hole in a canna seed to get it to germinate faster. if your not wanting to wait to get flowers..walmart has a good selection of canna rizomes. they have one that is yellow and red splotched, its called picaso.

You probably already know this now, but I've found numerous sources that say cannas can easily bloom first year from seed! Even some pics. It's amazing. I'm gonna try some seeds myself.

actually i didnt know that...that is awesome! maybe i will ge blooms this year. see you never stop learning. thanks for the info!
