Description
A robust grower, usually fruiting at 9-10 feet. This is a Cavendish type. It is the main variety now being grown commercially in Central America. There are reports of it doing well in Southern California, it is stress resistant and it has been described as semihardy. In Hawaii it is grown higher up than 'Williams', an improved Cavendish type, implying greater cool growing tolerance. Leaves are striped red when young. It needs support as fruit develops and the flavor of the fruit is very good. Bunches are of 50+ Lbs. Sensitive to cold.
