First steps for a newbie?
Hi - First post! I found the site after a google search trying to identify my new "Winter Hardy Banana Plant" led me to this thread!
My new banana baby is still in the 6" pot it came in. I'm wondering about what size pot to move it up to, soil recommendations, and any other tips or first steps to know about. My thinking is that perhaps we could get a sticky-worthy thread that can get other beginners like myself off to a good start with happy little banana plants! -0rion |

Re: First steps for a newbie?
Welcome Orion,
There are many threads for beginners (like me) and you will find all of the answers you need here. Just wait until you post a question - the experts will be at your disposal. Try spending some time in the archives, or try the search feature for posts about pot size, re-potting, soil, fertilizers, pH, you name it - it's here. Good luck! |

Re: First steps for a newbie?
Welcome, Orion!
As with many new members, you will find a lot of support from everyone in your banana "pursuits". Please post a photo of your banana plant. It would be very difficult to ID without photos. Also, please list any description that came with your plant, if there were any. (Note- I moved this thread from "Cold Hardy Bananas" to "Member Intro...." to inform the general membership of your joining, and so that they can welcome you.) |

Re: First steps for a newbie?
Hey Sonic and welcome . You should post something in member introductions so that people can welcome you properly. I just got my first dragon fruits as well . So far they're just cuttings in peat pots. How about you? If you click on "search" at the top right on the blue line and type in dragon fruit , you should get some old threads about it. Then you can post any more questions her and there will be people who can help. Good luck.
