Fruitful endeavors
I fell in love with bananas, mangos, and other tropical fruit when I moved to south Florida in 1979.
I've grown several varieties of bananas through the years, mostly from Going Bananas in Homestead. Had excellent luck with Apple bananas when I lived in a community in Ft. Lauderdale where the water sprinklers came on several times a week automatically. Not as much luck in Lake Worth, due mostly to laziness, I think. If I watered and fertilized frequently I'm sure they would do better. I think the tastiest variety that I have grown is Pisang Raja, or maybe the orange colored fruit just made me think it tasted better.... Have also tried growing bananas at our weekend place in central Florida. We had three nights in the low twenties this past winter, and they didn't like it a bit. |

Welcome to the party Danny, grab a drink and make yourself comfortable! The specials today are tostones, grilled bananas with creme frais honey and cinnamon sprinkled on it, and nanner-ritas!
