![]() I'm new to bananas but have wanted one for a while. Bought a musa basjoo this spring and just picked up two more today from a local nursery on clearance for one dollar each! They are about 12-15" and have several leaves. I am assuming I should keep them in pots for the winter indoors. Wish me luck!

![]() Basjoo is very cold hardy. Check with some members here from PA or similar before relegating it to the indoors for winter.

![]() I'm in West Chester PA near Philly. Much to my surprise my Basjoo, which lives under a pile of greenhouse waste made it through last winter. wish me luck with a Texas Star.

![]() That's good to hear given what a brutally cold winter it was! I'm near Reading so not too far from West Chester. We had a pool put in last summer and lots of landscaping done in the fall. Only a few things didn't make it through the winter. I potted up a black raspberry that was in ground right where our fence was going and much to my delight it survived the winter in a pot left outside! Seriously debating on planting my bananas outside and just saving the four little pups indoors as back up.
