Growing Banana's In Virginia Beach, Va
I have been growing Exotics plants in my area for awhile now. I finally got my banana's to fruit in June. Full fingers before chopping off male flowers. I grow my plants to be hardy. I don't baby them and let nature take care of them in my area. Mulch baby mulch is all I do.
I'll add pics of my babies. I added pictures of my banana's. Thank you ALL for the warm welcome Hello All... Last edited by VaBchBananas : 11-08-2019 at 04:21 PM. Reason: adding to post |

Another Virginian! Welcome - and what are you growing? I envy your zone 8, I bet our Sikkimensis would do beautifully there - hopefully we can get it to grow here.

Re: Growing Banana's In Virginia Beach, Va
Good attitude about growing! Same here. There's a bit of natural selection that goes on in my gardens too. But the survivors turn into monsters, so it works fine. Lots of manure, fertilizer, watering every day in the heat here. Terrific fun!
