![]() Hi,
First time caller, although I grown bananas for a while both in Atlanta and around Detroit MI. I am a landscaper and have been for 20 years, I don't install them but grow them for me in my yard. I stumbled on this site from a thread somewhere. I have overwintered a hardier variety in Mi for two years, but the one I have now "I think" Musa abyssinian 'Maurelii', is not as hardy and I want to whack it and bury it over the winter. Is this possible? I overwintered it last winter in my guest room. It is real big now and ultimately what I am searching for is can I take all of those leaves off that quick in succession without cessation. Any info appreciated, Jeff |

![]() Jeff, Welcome to Bananas! You will get the answers you seek here. You might also run a search for threads or posts overwintering Ensete Ventricosum 'Maurelii' as there have been quite a few posts on that subject. Good luck!
