Hello From Maryland
Howdy everyone. Just noticed this forum. I'm a member of dctropics. Currently growing Musa velutina and Musa basjoo, Trachycarpus fortunei Tennessee, Rhapidophyllum hystrix, Sabal minor McCurtain variant, as well as Cannas, gingers, amorphophallus, hardy hibiscus, etc. Will post some pics.

Re: Hello From Maryland
Steve-I'm Howard, not Dan. I brought my Mom with me to John's. I assume most of the bananas are not in the ground. Otherwise you have a lot of digging come frost.
Tara- Veteran's Honor is such a beautiful rose. The weather this summer and the Japanese Beetle levels have made most of my roses look like the devil. I'm growing Peace, Chicago Peace, Ronald Reagan, Memorial Day, Cherry Parfait...but this Veteran's Honor has been the best looker so far. Thanks for the welcome guys!

Re: Hello From Maryland
Hi encore Howard, nice to hear from you , I sure wish I'd had a chance to talk to your Mom. Sorry to hear about the Japanese Beetle , there were a lot here but a lot managed to drown themselves in the tubs I have for my Water Lilies so the problem is almost gone.I'll PM you my address and number , I should have a few spare Musa next year and your welcome to come by and see my container gardening any time.
Later Steve
