Hi! New member here from south Louisiana
Hello everyone. I have some bananas which I hope to identify. They have not bloomed yet and were both salvaged from a vacant lot that was to be bulldozed. I've had them for about 10yrs now. We moved to a new house this year and I brought some of them with me to our new home. I also just purchased a musa bordelon and an Ensete maurelii from Stokes Tropicals. The plants arrived bigger than described and in excellent condition. On top of that they were on sale. I suspect though that they may have sent me
Ensete ventricosum 'Red Stripe' by mistake. If anyone has the time, please look at the photos linked below and give me your opinion. The last picture is of a pup. The purple tint fades as the plant gets larger. Stokes tropicals e-mailed me today. They did send 'red stripe' by mistake instead of maurelii. They are sending a replacement so now I'll have both! Hats off to Stokes Tropicals for having excellent customer service.
