Hoosier Banana Lovers
We're here in Northern Indiana at the southern tip of Lake Michigan...zone 5.
Although we've had a tropical feel to our garden for many years, Cannas, Elephant Ears, Hibiscus,Rose of Sharon, ferns and potted houseplants...this is only our second year of trying to grow bananas. Last year we planted 2 musas per the instructions we recieved from the company we purchased them from, which were inadequate. We also experienced severe flooding last Sept.13. Consequently, we lost both the trees. This time we are trying to gather as much info as we can as we are coming into fall. This looks like the place to be! Thanks for being here and we hope to benefit from your experience andlend ours where we can. Paula & Rod |
