just joining
hi! I grow several species of banana here in NYC some of which winter outdoors all winter like my basjoo which I started from one small potted plant five years ago. I cover it over in winter with bags of oak leaves. and even in the coldest einter the plants sprouted back from the ground in the spring reaching the height of 15-20 feet by the fall. The other banana plants I winter over in a greenhouse where they grow beatifully.
