![]() I am Albert F. Valida, a researcher of the National Abaca Research Center at Visayas State University, Baybay, Leyte, Philippines. My present worked is about the improvement of Abaca (Musa textilis Nee), another relative of banana.
I'm planning to breed Abaca with Banana to come up with a dual purpose plant yielding fiber (Manila hemp) and edible fruits. |

![]() Sounds like a very cool project, Albert! Please keep us updated on the progress, and post lots of pictures of the Phillipines also. I love seeing landscapes in other countries, and what they are growing there. Thanks,
Frank |
