Member Introduction - John from Melbourne, Australia
Hello members, I'm grateful to have joined your Group. My name is John from Melbourne, Australia. I'm a first-time banana planter, having previously lived at the foot of the Australian Snowy Mountains in Canberra. There are light frosts in my new residential area. I think that the spot where I've planted my Gold Finger banana plant is protected from harsh winds and the heaviest dew falls. It is in a semi-sheltered elevated site a few feet away from a gas furnace installation and I'm hoping the ambient heat in Winter will boost my banana plant's chances of survival. However, being a complete amateur, I'm resigned to accepting possible failure at my first attempt. Many thanks for accepting me into your organisation.

Re: Member Introduction - John from Melbourne, Australia
Welcome from New York City! You have a pretty good climate for growing bananas and I think that with lots of sun and some protection from frost, they should do really well. At least its almost Summer in the Southern Hemisphere now so your banana plants have a few months of fast growing ahead!
