Default musa basjoo winterizing - prep w/fungicide?

Read on someone's post last fall to spray the stumps with fungicide before covering. So, last November, I sprayed some stumps with fungicide and left some without. In the spring, I discovered some had rotted and some had survived. Trouble is, I can't remember if the ones I sprayed were the ones that made it or if it was the untreated plants that survived.

I live in zone 6-7 and am new to all this so advice is welcome.

I have used fungicide and then I have not used it so I dont think it makes any difference to be honest. The most important thing is to cover the p-steams with plastic to keep them dry!!!!!!! If they get wet and cold they will rot, the roots will most likely still survive but growth in the spring with start slower. - Good luck
