Hi Everyone on Bananas.org
I am atempting to grow bananas here on the lower south coast of NSW Australia I say atempting as I have several varietys growing for about a year but none fruiting yet. Temps here in celcius lows in winter about 2 degrees Summer highs 40 plus degrees costal I am growing the following Dwarf red dacca Dwarf cavendish cavendish goldfinger pisang ceylan ladyfinger ducasse valery blue java rajapuri I would like to hear from other members suggestions on other cold hardy bananas to grow here that might be available in Australia. |

Hi and welcome NSW Bananas,
I have tried growing the two varieties at the top of your list here in Bendigo. They grow alright, but don't fruit, at least not yet. I am soon heading over to Thailand to some real banana growing country, so I hope to find lots of different varieties to taste. Hope you have lots of success in growing your plants and that you enjoy your stay at this forum. |
