pictures of the banana plant life cycle and production process sought
Dear Folks,
I am an English teacher in Osaka, Japan wishing to teach my students about bananas and Fair Trade. I'd like to have about 10 to 12 pictures to show them of banana plants being planted, growing, being harvested, processed and shipped. Can anyone direct me to anywhere within this site that might have pics like these, or another site elsewhere? Thanks, Tracy |

I don't know about pictures, for that you should probably view our galleries and see what you would like, but you might also make pictures from this video by Dr. Scot Nelson (I attach the link to the post in thread "New DVD about growing bananas available"). A new DVD about growing bananas is available Good luck.

Welcome aboard, Tracy ! Great to have a member from Japan (they make such Great video games!). Jack Daw's suggestion is a Great resource that tracks banana growing to the actual markets.
I think you'll find this a very friendly & helpful site; I sure did ! Aside from the incredible DVD, there are tons of photos in the galleries, threads, and the wiki. Best wishes for your project . |

Welcome to the site, Tracy! I hope you enjoy it here and learn a lot! The DVD JD linked you to is an EXCELLENT resource! If you want pictures there are a TON of great pictures in our photo gallery as well. Just search around and I'm sure you can find great pictures to use (try words like pup, pseudostem, inflorescence, flower, fruit, etc). Hope that helps. Best of luck!
