![]() Im graduating in two weeks as a registered nurse here in Queens New York and plan to move down south after a year or two of work experience. My wife calls me "a plant freak" and I am considering moving to south florida to be able to pick and plant bananas, avocados, coconuts, garden etc... year round. I also love the beach and direct flights to south america. Also real estate is cheap compared to NYC. To all south florida members, especially miami area, any suggestions on places to look for affordable properties (more or less one acre) with no restrictions on pets and with a diverse mix of people? Also I might opt for vacant land in order to build an efficient and hurricane resistant home (maybe modular prefab etc...) Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

![]() Thanks everyone for the reply. This oil situation is crazy. Everyone is blaming BP but we all have our hands somewhat dirty. They only drill it cause we demand so much of it and they can make a @%^ load of $$$$$.
I dont know what kind of nursing ill do. the job situation is pretty tight here in the northeast. well see what happens. I would love to start some kind of program at a nursing home or school which teaches people to better their health by planting food gardens, doing exercise but that is not really what nursing focuses on. hospitals can be somewhat depressing, no fresh air, suffering, etc... Ill do my best. I would like to try home care nursing. |
