Seems like ensete glaucum or musella lasiocarpa. But Musella lasiocarpa usually suckers vigourously, so I am guessing ensete glaucum.

I'm with mrbungalow on this one , if they were smaller then perhaps Musella , but the leaves are not right for that .So Ensete , hope they are not Glaucum as it's a pain to grow. Hope for Ensete Ventricosum and buy two today or more, in your climate once they start they will be massive this season , 8 to 10 feet tall and covering a six foot plus round area .

Thanks Erlend for posting the picture and also Steve for the info....if anyone is in the Vancouver area I saw these at the new Canadian Tire on Marine Way. Hope to pick up a couple tomorrow...

They look like Musella lasiocarpa to me. I do not think Canadian tire would sell Ensete so that would eliminate those.

Yep on second and third look, the way the cut leaves at the base of the plant have shrunk in , it looks very like Musella Lasiocarpa. As was said big plants for the price. they must have cut all the pups off for propagation before potting those plants up. They must have done it not long ago as Lasiocarpa pups like crazy , a plant of that size would have a mass of pups at the base. I like to grow them pupless as they look better. So perhaps keep one plant for pups and propagation and keep the other pup free by cutting the tops off as they come out of the soil. If you manage to lose the main stem in the winter which has happened to me, then I just cut the main stem almost to the ground and in a few weeks lots of pups come up. I then lift the whole plant and carve off pups with a chunk of main corm and roots. These divisions all take well and you have too many plants very quickly.

Yes I did....had to wait till the better half left the room to post...I'm suppose to get the house plants down below 55....The weather is finally agreeing with them going outside.

I'm looking for a couple Saba....know anyone???!

Definitely Musella lasiocarpa. I suspect that the grower recently potted those up and, as Steve said, removed all of the suckers for propagation. They look quite healthy and vigorous, and a decent price also!
