Dwarf Banana Flowering
Can anyone identify this one for me? I'm not sure what it was when I planted it -- possibly Double Majoi, but I can't be sure.
It's a pretty short banana at about four feet tall, and it has taken a long time to flower. I let the chickens snack on all the pups recently because I was going to dig it up and get rid of it since it wasn't flowering. I figured it was another Cavendish that wasn't going to do well here. The fruit is a little bit bigger than what some of my other banana plants are putting out. They are bigger than my Dwarf Cavendish, Raja Puri, and Pisang Ceylon. I may actually keep this one now if the bananas taste good. Any ideas? Thanks for looking. (Click on the thumbnails for a bigger view.) |

Re: Dwarf Banana Flowering
If it's bigger than DC...maybe Gran Nain?

Re: Dwarf Banana Flowering
It looks to be a 'Dwarf Cavendish' or 'Double Cavendish' ("Mahoi"), but they are almost the same plant, the latter just sometimes has branching bunches.

Re: Dwarf Banana Flowering
Hi Phil, thanks. That's okay. Most of my albums are of plants and/or animals and are public. I have a few private ones, and those are not accessible by the public.
