Default Finally finding different bananas to taste

I mentioned finding a small bunch of Dole Baby #4234 which, once ripe, was tasty and even better frozen. Now I've purchased a small hand labeled Delmonte Apple #4233; they were yellow so I tasted one. Even though I like under-ripe bananas--blech! (I stuck the rest of it in the freezer hoping the "pucker" will fade--fat chance.) I assume the rest once "aged" will be yummy.

If I wanted to purchase pups here in the US similar to these what would I be looking for?

I was actually wondering the same thing. I really like those little bananas as they taste like banana pudding a bit. They smell good and are very yellow. I wonder if the two brands are more the same but call them different names?

They might be the same but the Babys I purchased were a bit longer and maybe thinner than the Apples. And it could be they're the same but the growing conditions were different. Who knows? Thanks for bumping this and letting me know I'm not alone in my quest for a tasty small banana.

Maybe this will help.

4234 BANANAS: Nino or Baby Banana - a group of small bananas known for their sweet, sugary flavor. Sometimes called Ladyfingers, Goldfingers, or Oroitos. Dominicos (4230 above] are often classified with this grouping.
4233 BANANAS: Manzano/Apple - a small, distinctively different fruit with an apple-like flavor. Best eaten when very ripe.
