![]() Question is "Is this the real deal"? This plant varies from the other. Haven't sold pups off of this mat for that reason.

![]() It's sort of hard to tell, but based on the pink coloration it looks more like a Namwah.

![]() I figured that red coloring threw it off. I'll take more pics as it emerges.
Is it dwarf ? It is around 8 feet up to the flower. |

![]() It doesn't look like a dwarf, it's too slender. It just might be shorter due to your growing conditions.

![]() Could be good or bad. Mature plant height in bananas can be hugely variable depending on conditions. They can be on the short side because conditions are good, e.g., lots of full sun (e.g., Sunfish's yard), or because conditions are bad, e.g., too few nutrients and too little water. They can get really tall if shaded, because they are "reaching for the sun." The easiest way to decide whether the conditions are good or bad is look at fruit production. A short or tall plant that is making big bunches of big, fat fruit is happy.

![]() Yep, and the petioles are too long for it to be a dwarf.

![]() Based on those new photos, it's not the real Ice Cream or "fake Ice Cream" (Namwah). Not sure what it is.

![]() Pictures of the leaf petiole would help, but won't be definitive. Keep taking photos of this bud as it develops and the fruit mature. Get good close ups of the male flowers when they start forming. The finger shape, orientation, and color of the newly forming bananas is wrong for both Ice Cream and Namwah. The female flower color is oddly pale for a plant that looks like it has closed petioles. In short, just keep providing pictures as the bunch matures. Don't cut off the male bud on the bunch.
