Is this an Icecream???
I bought some TC-plantlets earlier this year and this one was sold to me
as Icecream. I am not sure anymore if it really is that and good pictures for comparison are hard to find. Anyone? Thanks Ron Last edited by the flying dutchman : 09-13-2007 at 01:01 PM. |

Re: Is this a Icecream???
Strange, and you got me uncertain.
My Ice Creams are bluish and powdery, and these are inside now in a warm environment. But they do tend to become pinkish when left outside, but not to the degree you are showing. Could it be cool weather has something to do with it? Erlend

Re: Is this a Icecream???
Mine doesn't have pink in it like that, the veins are white. And it didn't when it was that size, and none of the ice creams I've grown so far had that pink look to them. The powdery look is right though. So I guess I just don't know!
Whatever it is, it's a pretty one!

Re: Is this a Icecream???
I take it back, yours is definitely an ice cream> The reason being, check out these pictures! This first one is a picture of one of the pups. It has that pinkish color on it.They are still in the pot with the mama, no confusing what kind they are by mixing up tags on this one.
this is the backside of the leaf on one of the pups this is the mama banana, which has no pink color on it whatsoever--and never has! But those three pups sure do!Maybe because it's getting cooler at night? I don't know! but they are definitely pinkish, and look like yours.

Re: Is this a Icecream???
Hey Sandy thanks!!!! Yeah, now I am pretty sure it is an Ice cream, the
backside of the leaf is exact the same and indeed we have too low-temps for the time of the year. Another reason is, I don't see what it should be else and as it was labeled like that it probably is. Another thing is that the colors on the Pictures look more dark than it really is. Ron |

Re: Is this a Icecream???
What is different about yours? Mine has the red midrib on the back of the leaf and the stem looks the same. It hasn't fruited yet so I am not 100% sure its orinoco, but it was sold as such. It is believed that they came from the same plant, I think, so they should look similar.
