I have seen that name before, I believe in Simmonds book. Unfortunately I don't have it on me, but if you don't get an answer in a few weeks I will look it up when I get a chance.

The plant you have is not 'Monkey Fingers' though. Search the gallery for my photos of 'Pisang Jari Buaya' (its Indonesian name).

Page 99, says 'Pot' is an abbreviation in the AA group of New Guinea, also called 'Porpat', 'Sararaga', and 'Mami'.

There was nothing that I could find concerning 'Goli Pot Pot' or even 'Goli' but the above information might be relevant. Gabe, let me know if you need more information from Simmonds, or even a picture of the 2 pages that talk about it. I hope I'm on the right track.

I was hoping to cut off a few fingers and bring them home with me (im in Colorado right now on the mainland US), but was unable to so I'm hoping its cool enough that the bunch doesn't ripen before I get back next month. So no, I haven't tried it yet, but I look forward to it!

The fruits are not turning out anything like your Crocodile Fingers Gabe . My supplier tells me the fruits are small with thin skin . Maybe its Sucrier . Its pouring rain , at long last , so I cannot take any pictures . I will update my gallery when weather improves and the fruits maure a bit more .

It does not look like 'Sucrier'. 'Sucrier' has very distinctive brown coloration on the pseudostem and usually somewhat yellow petioles with reddish petiole wings. Notice on your plant there is black coloration and completely red petioles. Here are 'Sucrier' photos.

I think your plant may be a kind of Silk. 'Manzano' is a common Silk cultivar, but I don't think you have that cultivar. It also could be something else, but that is my guess.
These photos are of my Silk cultivar 'Ungoye Sweet'. The coloration is a bit different (I have an uncommon form though), but they look somewhat similar. See these photos of my 'Ungoye Sweet'.

This picture shows the younger sucker that seems to have all red petioles .

When mature this fades and there is only a red edge .

Earlier pics were taken in full midday sun and may not be true colour , Took this one today during very overcast conditions , I would not call it brown , but not black either .

So In finally found that reference I had seen, turns out it wasn't in Simmonds' at all, but in a QDPI germplasm catalog. Here is some photos and a little info on 'Goly Goly Pot Pot'...pretty similar name...could be the same or similar plant, see what you think.

Genome: ABB
Subgroup: Kalapua

Gabe, YES this might be it .. the spelling was mine .
And it has been suggested that the almost tastless fruit should be cooked . BUT the fruit is almost half of noted size .
These fruits are only 11 -12 cm. Bit of a mystery . I hope to be in touch with a local grower who would have almost all of the varieties in that book . I know some of the staff at the South Johnstone DPI. it's just a few k up the road .

Fruit and bunch size is variable depending on many things within the same clone even, so I don't think that alone rules it out.

Sorry did not take my camera as it was raining when I left .
Amazing collection of native 'Finger Limes' and so many Pumellos !

Seems the name I was given is listed as a syn. for a plant I am already growing Pisang Ceylon . This has the first bunch coming and does not look like the plant in question.

What is the flavor of this one like? Similar to any other varieties you've tried? I have it, too, but it has been very slow to fruit in my climate: 3+ years and still no flower.
