I am much more interested than Cal. Gold flowers in the climate in your place,
San Diego.

The weather underground beneath your picture indicates the present temp.
in your city as 64F/17.7C. It is much cooler than I thought.
The lowest temperature of yesterday in my city near Tokyo was 55.4F/13C,
and the highest was 77F/25C. But banana doesn't grow well as in your place.
So I think the difference teperatures between San Diego and my city is
presented in the winter time, that means your winter is mild while ours colder.

Thanks, Sunfish,

Now I got the point. The lowest in the winter here is abt.25F/-4C, while
yours 40F/4.4C.
This difference influences the growth and overwintering of bananas in
wintertime.

That's true also how long the fruit will ripen. I have a Calif gold fruit that flowered during the winter time and I am still waiting for it to yellow. It seems like 'forever'.
