![]() Hello Ya'll
Christmas has come early and I need some help with an ID on the presents. I had to cut back several p-stems due to damage this summer. Three have now fruited. One, the first and most unexpected, is posted here in an earlier thread. Need some help with an ID please. I have always been under the impression that these were either basjoo or Saba. Please help me finally arrive at a conclusion. Here ya go. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. This is a fair distant shot: ![]() Full shot a little closer ![]() Close up of flowers ![]() Closest Close up of flowers ![]() Have a great weekend. And thank you for all your help!

![]() Compare the MALE flowers to pix at
http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/l...182619653.html If no match, send me the pix and I will try and match it with the pix I have. I am convinced that that it the best way to match varieties.

![]() P-stem is short for pseudostem, which refers to the trunk of the banana. It is called pseudo because it is not actually a stem, but a group of tightly packed leaf petioles that give the appearance of being a stem.
