We had a discussion about Musa basjoo 'Red' earlier somewhere ( Europe Trade ) and we agreed that it's most probably a Musa 'Dwarf Red' or Musa 'Red'. This will probably stay that until we really prove its hardiness to be comparable with basjoo.

As for your plant, it doesn't look like my basjoo red, so I would go with Musa rubra in your case.

My Musa basjoo red has been growing wildly in these colder days and nights, whereas Cavendishes are very slow, sometimes doing nothing. Is it possible, that basjoo red is not red?

... yes, .. in these colder days and nights she grows very well, in the night we had here 5-6 Celsius, but the basjoo lost the red color...

We went down to 10°C and it didn't even stop. Cavendishes are standing still. I think I will put them inside soon. So that they are prepared and awaken before to tropical and dry weather comes to my living room.
