Re: My NOID
Looks like it could be Ensete glaucum grown from seed. But identifying bananas before flowering is not always a good idea and unless its distinct plant, its pretty worthless. Do you know if it was grown from seed or from a corm?

Re: My NOID
Hmmm...They were large seeds, so I know it is Ensete, But I heard Glaucum (snow banana?) has blue tinted leaves, which mine does not. Will it develop color as it ages or something? This is supposely a Glaucum. Mine doesnt look a bit like it. But who knows... Any other guesses?

Re: My NOID
The picture you show is E. ventricosum. Its just a seedling, so the wax may not be as appearent as on older plants, but in any case they are not blue at all, they are green with a waxy coating, which can sometimes appear bluish but I wouldnt say they have a blue tint at all....if that makes sense

Re: My NOID
Oh, sorry about the picture, Stupid websites! I completely understand that, In certain light, maybe it looks blue. But not here. Not a big deal, just not fun to be a newbie and have a NOID!

Re: My NOID
Taylor, you might want to become friends with the "Rotate CCW" link in your gallery admininistration panel.
It would rotate the image counter clockwise for you. Noticed that you have a few in your gallery that could use some rotating.

Check your post on your question regarding i.d. of your plant in your gallery. It probably is Super Dwarf Cavendish. Chong |
