I acquired a few banana pups from an indoor mat of bananas but I'm not sure what kind they are. The pups' leaves have very dark red markings that fade (but not completely) as they age and the mother plants seem to have very few markings on them. The mother plants had one bunch of very small (maybe 2-3 inches), sweet bananas and the flower was a dark red/maroon. Also, the pups, even the large ones, have relatively flimsy feeling leaves but I'm not sure if this is a characteristic of the species or just because they haven't had much light available to them. Does anyone have any ideas as to what kind these might be? Thanks!

very pertty plant im not sure what it is. I thought it was a bordelon but they say you cant eat the fruit. Does the underside have maroon ?Here is the link

I know this variety (and have one growing here), I have seen it many times all over the world, but I have not been able to figure out exactly what it is. It is commonly ID'd as being a form of Musa acuminata subsp. zebrina or sumatrana, but it is neither of those, it is an edible variety.

It could be what is commonly called 'Gran Nain x Sumatrana', but that variety is also a bit mysterious and I have not seen it flowering up close very much, also the descriptions of it are sometimes quite different from the variety you have (the one I know well).
