Looks like Truly Tiny or Little Prince to me. SDC is typically a little less stocky at that height (at least mine always has been). SDC also has red splotches at that age.

You could probably cut that dead crap off the stem. It would expose the color of it to help in identification. (not to mention looking nicer IMO)

Here is a Super Dwarf Cavendish with fruit - this is not my plant - I pulled this picture off the internet a long time ago. They look very similar, but I think I would say a Truly Tiny or Little Prince also, but I'm no expert.

Any which way it is a great looking plant Greg!

WOOT WOOT...very nice. I dunno, I am always pretty anal about keeping the stems exposed and keeping my plants free of any dead material so they can utilize the stem for photosynthesis as well. Don't worry, it looks kinda pale now, but it'll green up in a few days after it gets some more sun.

Hi, looks just like mine. Also bought at Home Depot. It is called Musa Acuminata Novak.
It says super dwarf. I think it gets 6ft or less. I can't remember for sure. I do know it
pups. I started with 0ne now there two in seperat 6inch pots one has two pups and the other has three.

It looks like a SDC to me. Looks like mine but mine is way smaller and it already has 3 pups. SDC, little prince and truly tiny all look the same some just get bigger than others. So you'll never really know till it's full grown...

just my 2 cents

I heard LP/TT are pretty difficult to get to flower (sometimes taking 3-4 years or more). I really don't think it's SDC. Notice how the leaves are so jam-packed together....SDC will do this when it's mature at 3-4 feet, but not at such a small age. Check my gallery for pics of my SDC's growth last summer....doesn't look like your plant at all when it was that size.

Where's Gabe? LOL!

Well I had her in the semi-shade in my front flower bed till the 3rd week on Nov. It was very wet. I thought she was goingto kick the bucket until I found my thermostat problem in Jan. From then on its been kickin' but and I had to clip a pup off. When I did such I found out how healthy the root system is versus when I dug her up (really sad shape). I will get to the pic's soon as I get everything in the ground :^) With 2 club feet might be a bit.. lol

My SDC that i bought off of Sandy looks just like his with the jam-packed leaves but mine is still way smaller than his. I would post a pic of it but it freaked out and lost most of its leaves not to long ago. Its doin good now though it just popped 3 pups out in a week and they already have 3 leaves. They are awesome plants i cant wait till mine recovers.

Also look at the pics on the wiki of Musa Little Prince - Bananas Wiki there is a pretty good comparison of a SDC and little pince on there. From those pics if it is a Little Prince it is an old one, and coming from Home Depot it doesnt seem likely that they would keep them around that long...

Looking at the compactness of the leaves, I would say that this is a Truly Tiny. Unless you have been growing it indoors. A SDC that has less than ideal growing conditions will grow it's leaves really tight like that. That is what my SDC did over the winter. Either way, it's a good looking plant.
