Re: Helen's Hybrid Banana Blossom
Very good result, my congratulations! And what height reaches a blossoming plant? At us dews Musa Helen's Hybrid in a greenhouse. Has grown 4,5 metres, but and has not blossomed, has broken all leaves about a roof, probably wished to grow still above. This hour was landed by new plants, observe of them. Their height about two metres. A beautiful version. The best regards! Update please pictures.

Re: Helen's Hybrid Banana Blossom
The trunk height is about 4 meters, although the plant flowers in the winter was so, but without leaves for the wind and cold.
I also Chini Champa of similar age, I hope they bloom soon, the trunk is 3.5 meters but bigger Paolo |

Re: Helen's Hybrid Banana Blossom
Congrats to the first banana bloom in Italy of Helen's Hybrid! Why not try Orinoco, Prata (Brazilian), Pratinha (Dwarf Brazilian), Dwarf Namwah and other hardier bananas? You are living in USDA Zone 9b, there it is possible to harvest bananas from hardier cultivars.
I'm writing one new edition of my banana book. If you do understand German, this you can read the book. But also the English version is planned, the translation service of my edition house bod.de will translate the book to English. Yes, Chini Champa is good for your climate, will fruit and is hardy here. But also you should try Goldfinger (FHIA-01), Rajapuri and Mysore! You are living in Italy, this is no problem to get banana plants from Achims Bananenshop, Bananen Shop. Best wishes Basjoofriend |
