Tried googling this, but with no luck

Can you eat the Musa Basjoo bananas?

It lead me to youtube, and someone saying you can, but most don't do all the seeds...the other urls i got, just talked about growing it.

Most sources say not edible. It's probably because of the seeds and because it doesn't taste too great.

I think what is true is that its not very palatable. It is edible in the fact that you wont get sick or die from eating it but you may gag and puke a little.

Aside from them being seeded (with rather large seeds), even if they flower you are unlikely to get any fruit to develop because of lack of pollination.

M. basjoo should not be considered an edible banana, because there are bananas which are grown specifically for the fruit (most bananas we are interested in), and M. basjoo is not one of them.

There are many uses for everything, but in this case just consider M. basjoo a purely ornamental plant.

Also good cattle fodder. That is what will happen to our mature plants.
