![]() I was wondering if i can trim down basjoos,dwarf cavendish and a red abyssinnia and leave them in there pots as is????They would be in basement in darkness at around 1o-15c\50-60f.The basjoos are under 3ft ,cavendish 5ft and the abyssinnia 8-9 ft,This is how i winter my banana canna's so hoping this will work!!!

![]() If there is no light I doubt there is very much differnce, however if you leave them in a garage that has light then you risk overstressing the plant, not to mention when you see it stuggling you may water it (too much). Lastly bare root plants are far easier to move than large pots.

![]() Just my opinion but, if you leave them in the pot, make sure the soil is VERY dry or the roots will rot. It's easier to dry the roots by taking it out of pot & shaking dirt off.
When the plant is dormant, it's not taking up any water. So, any moisture in soil will just lay there & rot the roots.
