I have a basjoo. Also can i propagate elephant ears by division?

as far as the elephant ears..you can split them from top to bottom. let them dry and heal..i would try to get an eye on both sides you split.keep in mind if the corm or bulb is small the plant will generally start out small..you can let them grow bulblets to propagate as well...i started with 5 bulbs now i have a 5 gallon bucket full of soft ball sized ee bulbs. you would do better just lifting all of them and storing em if you only have a few come winter. cut off all green parts and let them dry before storing..put em in a cool,dry,dark place as well. you can try stokes tropicals for bordelon since they are in la. and i think thats where the plant comes from. if you are talking about potting up a plant for the winter i would bring it inside and not water it as much because it will rot out the plant roots if its not actively growing. i would keep it on the dry side.its a general rule for keeping a plant in the winter. thanks.
