Default Why are my leaves yellow?

My musa basjoo’s have come up. But one of them is growing yellow leaves. Any ideas?

Without pictures it is a guess. ... However, new growing leaves with yellowish coloring is an indication of lack of fertilizer more particularly nitrogen. It can be corrected by foliar spraying with a nitrogen rich spray and improvements can be seen over night.


High rainfall can wash away ground applied fertilizer and cause leaf yellowing. I have 2 plants showing yellow after several heavy rains over the last 3 weeks.

Thanks. I tried to post a photo but it didn't work out. We have had a lot of rain here in Chicago so that could very well be the issue. I've been meaning to fertilize again anyway.

To much water could be your problem, if you can help it drain away from the plant it may help. If you have trouble loading pics they may be too large.They need to be 2MB or smaller.
