Here is the photo of the seed I got

I looked up the return address. They apparently came from Burapha University (an address on campus?) in Chon Buri. And that is about 80-100 km SE of Bangkok. Expect 75 degree winter lows and 95 degree summer highs, very little temperature change with seasons, but an obvious wet season.

KJ, I think this chap got the sds from elsewhere cos SE of Bkk is not the source of the Ensete sp Kluay Pa. It is found around the NW side of Bkk.

I wrote the seller and told him I didn't think this was the right type of seeds since E.S. is not a Musa at all. So what happens? He sends me another package of the SAME SEEDS!? So if anyone can tell me what that even is (or wants to take them off my hands) I'm down. Or maybe these are indeed E.S. seeds? Ideas?

I'm looking for the Thai version of the E.S. I've searched far and wide but haven't found even a single site that sells the plants. I realize they do not pup, and are kinda rare anyway, but I kinda figured somewhere would germinate and sell them. Maybe not. I love the fat, stocky structure they have and would love to have one in my collection, but so far, I have not succeeded. If any of you know something and can point me in the right direction, please let me know.

Thanks.
I just bought two Ensete Superbum PLANTS from Brian's Botanicals on Ebay a few weeks ago. They are doing fine and are already three feet high. I gave up on the seeds long ago. Hope this helps.

This is one that I grew from seed in 2006:

As you can see, it has very short petioles which leads me to suspect that Snookie's is not Ensete Superbum.

Snookie won his Superbum at Darkman's banana party several years ago - here are photos of Snookie's SuperBum's brother growing next to a CaliGold mat in my yard taken Sept 8, 2013

Here is same SuperBum on Aug 23, 2014

Mine finally bloomed after freezing to ground for several winters -I wish I could locate that photo - the bloom was ominous looking.
