Default Musa beccarii flowering

Musa beccarii is now flowering. It always is a late bloomer. This is the most sensitive banana that we grow. It will go dormant once temperatures get to near 40F. It is always the last to start growing in the spring and then never flowers until late in the year. It has never had a chance to set fruit and seeds before it goes dormant. Here is the inflorescence;

Glad you all enjoyed the photos. We are trying to build a collection of Musa species here, not just the fruiting hybrids.

Eric,

is you sprouted musa ingens any larger? If so, have you considered donating to agristarts for mass production?

It has only grown 1 more leaf since then so it looks just about the same. I don't think it will do much more. Maybe I will set it outside during the winter now that it is cooler.
