Re: Ae Ae
Sooo..
For possible discussion....why do my leaves contain so much more grey than other plants posted or so much less at times.........\ Hmmmmmm.....Could it be the music ...or the collateral . . Regardless of what has been posted ..........I think I can change the characteristics of this plants leaves with different kinds of nutrients and fertilizers........ these plants are from the same stock as others on this forum(Florida/Puerto Rico/Ohio variety), and are grown in separate environments and all look different. I am not familiar with the plants in the state of Hawaii or if they have Florida heritage. I need three more plants and three more years to make this idea work...... Plants will be grown in south Florida and Ohio at my home. Small plants only.... I do not want your plants......I have my own.....I want you to feed your Potted plant this formula.. However more control is had while in my possession. Takers ?? Pretty bold statement.....Cray.....doable? Last edited by cincinnana : 11-14-2014 at 07:52 PM. |

Have you had any other sports or leaf flushes yet where the white turns to a light butter color? I do not have enough observation time yet but for me it seems this change happens once the plant is under CFL's but not certain. I have not nailed down the variables yet......Exhale.. I took some pics but have misplaced them......Inhale... Scarves are still on sale... |

Re: Ae Ae
Well ultimately they all come from Hawaiian stock. My 3 mats vary a bit even within the same mat. All from 1 plant bought 4 years ago.

Re: Ae Ae
This is what it looked like before hearing about going to lower ohio.
different kinds of nutrients and fertilizers........ or.................maybe.............. they just produce more green as they mature so they can fill their fruit.... Good Luck on your 3 year experiment. Quote:

Scaring the white out of it one new leaf at a time. Looks I will have fruit at 4 feet if green leaves to fill the fruit holds true. . Last edited by cincinnana : 11-18-2014 at 04:52 AM. |

Re: Ae Ae
Relax....
....................cincy......... you're not getting a bud at 4 feet..................... your little buddy still needs further maturation............... . with a little more experience.......nevermind............ I've seen plants go from very white to almost entirely green before they're 15 inches............. . ..................

Re: Ae Ae
If you're referring to the fingers, I wouldn't expect it. I've got one that's being allowed to shoot for that very same question...it should take a few more days.

Re: Ae Ae
They are very good cooked (some yellow) and just ok eaten very ripe. I think any type of Maolis are my favorite cooked, though I've only tried a dozen or so different types of cooking bananas cooked.

Re: Ae Ae
Mostly I just slice them about 1" thick, steam them, and serve with salt. My other standard is sautéing onions in coconut oil, then adding coconut milk and the steamed bananas. Other than that I add them to curries, stir fries, or make mashed bananas like mashed potatoes.
