Very, very nice bananas. Small, finger size. Very tall and skinny plant. MUST support when fruiting. Doesn't take wind, Medium pupper.

Not sure if they're tired of Pissing.... Uh.... Er.... Pisang Ceylons yet but has anyone heard from Chironex, Klemmthamm, or JPfloors yet? Can't help but wonder how theirs are doing.

BTW, Cold Tolerant can be a fairly relative concept. I've been growing things for 3 years that should be very marginal in Oklahoma - sometimes it's more a matter of strategy, especially in bordering zones .

Good luck with the Pisang Ceylon (excuse the humor, I couldn't resist ). Ya got me going now with the Texas Star, Carolina King, & Golden Rhinohorn. Searched the internet & couldn't find anything on that Amistad, though. Living in Oklahoma (my whole life, so far), I think I'll try for all 3. If I get hold of one, I'll let ya know... & where I got it.
Need to get them in the wiki, too. From what I read this afternoon, they're some great nanners... esp Texas Star... 16 degrees & came back!? Incredible!

Well yesterday I was unbagging the 2 nanners at the corners of the deck (well two of them (cause I noticed soemthing was wrong). Someone tripped over the cord of the heat-tape and unplugged them. Any how I guess my mother PC is down to under a foot versus 3.5 feet of p-stem w/ 12 of leaf. Dwarf Orinoco, and Raja Puri took a beating too. Well I think when I get done I can start a thread "Heat-tapes vs. no heat-tapes" or tall & green vs. alot of cut-off brown. Well i know the unplug effected two more so I best be off to check out the Raja, and the SDC's. @ least they are all alive thanks to the straw :^)

I have 4 nanners I'm putting in the ground behind my garage, I might just have to do that or some other taller (homemade version) method depending how they grow this summer :^)

It looks like a fungus to me, but I saw no black on the leaves or trunk. I had a similar problem with a Grand Nain earlier this summer. I sprayed and sprayed, but nothing helped. It appeared to be rotten to the root. It had a keiki that has grown strongly, no sign of fungus, and it has a keiki of its own. I have a lot of otherwise healthy banana plants. So, what is happening?
